Getting a Long Term Care Insurance Plan

Filed under: Senior Living — Tags: — admin @ 7:07 am

Since most of us are going to need long term care at some point in our lives, we have to consider if we should purchase long term care insurance. It is an overwhelming decision, given the fact that we spend most of our lives working and paying fees for other kinds of necessary insurance that we need to have. We get auto insurance because it is mandatory as well as we buy life insurance because we do not want to leave our loved ones financially broke and penniless when we die and we also buy health insurance because it is a smart decision. In the end, all of those insurance bills that need to be paid begin to add up. But we should always consider getting a long term care insurance plan since it allows us to remain independent and receive proper care and treatment with dignity in the setting of our own choice either in a nursing home, adult day care facilities or even in our own home.

Going to Toronto for a Funeral

Filed under: Senior Living — Tags: — admin @ 2:17 am

I tell you, I hate going to funerals. I have a funeral to go to later this week and I’m really not happy about it. I didn’t know the person very well, but they worked where I work and I feel like I have to go to represent for our company. I have to travel to funeral toronto too. It’s about an hour and a half drive for me, which I don’t mind, but I really hope I’m not asked to say a few words for the recently departed, because I have no idea what to say. I only knew the guy on the phone, he worked in a totally different department than me. The guy actually asked for me to come before he passed, which is why I’m really going. I figure that it’s the least I could do for the poor guy. I hope he’s in a better place now.

How Loyalty Can Pay off in the End

Filed under: Senior Living — Tags: — admin @ 8:15 am

Lita was working for a telecommunications company in the city. What sets her apart from most of her colleagues is that she was one of the ten pioneer members of the company. This is special for Lita. In fact, despite several tempting offers from different competitors, Lita still chose to stay. She says that no amount of money can compensate for the feeling that you are appreciated for all your efforts. Almost every year, Lita gets recognized for her unbelievable contribution to the progress that the company is experiencing at present. With every recognition, comes incentives – either in cash or in kind. The last time she got her award, she was rewarded with a free trip to Hongkong for two. She was very happy about of course. But then when she was once asked by her supervisor about one thing that she really liked to have, Lita replied with a question, “how do I qualify for housing assistance? You see, I have everything but my own home.” Her supervisor smiled and said, “Don't worry about it. That will come, for sure.”
